Uk. The formal dresses of the Parliament’s officials could be too expensive.

United Kingdom. «Between robes, laces and wigs, the formal dresses» of the Parliament’s officials would cost around «26 thousand pounds per year (more than 30 thousand euros)» (ANSA).

It has been the TaxPayers’ Alliance to point out this «expenditure of public money».

By way of example, John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons, would wear  a robe costing «over one thousand pounds» and more than 8 thousand pounds would be spent for the «uniforms of 37 ushers» (ibidem).
