Tiananmen Square 25 years later and tension passing through the Chinese capital.

According to the news agency ANSA,  «Beijing appears tense» on the occasion of the «25th anniversary of the massacre by which the Chinese army called a halt to the protests of students and citizens who asked for democracy».

The city would be full of patrol cars, with «stricter than usual controls» and «long rows to enter Tiananmen Square».

According to the same news agency, «dissident sources» reported that, during the last weeks, «at least 200 persons have been arrested or forced to leave the capital to avoid any kind of remembrance of the massacre» (ibidem).
