Is an album cover considered too audacious? Censorship gives a graphic answer made in Middle East.

According to la Repubblica.it, “pop music” was not successful in escaping the “censorship” practiced by “morals” in the Middle East. This would be proved by different “album covers, considered too explicit or vulgar” and, for this reason, “polished up”.

A sequence of examples of “restyling” has been gathered by the web space Capotei, along with a comparison between the “original versions of the covers” and the ones having been “altered in order to appear more chaste”.

The list of the “well-known” personalities whose covers have been picked on goes “from Lady Gaga to Madonna” and “Christina Aguilera” (la Repubblica.it).
