Think about a usual walk through the streets of your city. You are deep in thought when, at a certain point, you lift your gaze and, probably, the first question you ask yourself is if you are hallucinating.
After having observed carefully, you’ll understand that this is not the case, since the persons hurtling “among the skyscrapers” are real and fly like “they were Iron Man“, the superhero whose adventures are published by Marvel Comics since “1963”.
If you don’t find such a situation plausible, well, those who attended the “first Jet Suit Race” would disagree (la Repubblica.it).
The event took place few days ago (February 28) in the United Arab Emirates, more precisely “in Dubai’s harbour before the astonished eyes of the passers-by”.
The suits used were “equipped with five gas turbine engines”, allowing the “contestants” to soar vertically and then to “move in the air” with a system for “directional control”.
Such a device can “work with aviation fuel, diesel or biofuel”. Concerning the “participants”, they were almost all “pilots” (ibidem).
